Advanced Non-Destructive Testing

In Long Range Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT Services), also known as Guided Wave Ultrasonic Testing (GWUT), ultrasonic waves are transmitted along the pipe wall (guiding walls) up to a length of 180 meters.

The GW LRUT rapidly screens pipelines for integrity assessment, targeting areas of potential degradation or engineering concerns, and identifying gross discontinuities in non-peggable buried, encased, vertical, or inaccessible piping, as well as epoxy-coated pipelines. This method is used for targeted assessment and inspection.

While conventional NDT test methods provide localized inspection underneath or in the vicinity of the sensors, LRUT can test 100% of the circumferential wall over tens of meters of the pipe length from a single inspection (contact point) location.
